Privacy, in plain words
What we keep, for how long, and who can see it.
Messages, your contact list, your password, files, webcam pictures, voice chat and the setting up of calls are encrypted before they leave your computer.
The sound and picture of voice and video calls aren't encrypted. They go straight between the two computers when they can, so each side learns the other's IP address, and through our server otherwise.
Stored unencrypted, including what the other person wrote, unless you opt out in the client.
When you report someone, we keep the report for 180 days.
Used for password resets and security notices. Nothing else.
No analytics. The only third-party script is Cloudflare Turnstile on the sign-in, registration and password recovery forms, which checks that a person sent them.
