I can't sign in
Check your Messenger ID and password on this site first. If that works, reinstall from our setup.
Is it private?
Everything you send travels encrypted, webcam and voice chat included, except the sound and picture of voice and video calls. The privacy page has the details.
What doesn't work?
Games, SMS and plug-ins other than Y! Updates, which were Yahoo's own services. An account signs in from one place at a time: signing in elsewhere signs out the first. Your contact list and Address Book hold 999 people together, and only one Windows user at a time can run Messenger on a computer.
I changed my password
Tick "Sign me out everywhere" and Messenger, plus every other place using the old password, has to sign in again. Leave it off and they stay signed in.
I lost my password and never added an email
Then we can't verify it's you, so recovery by email isn't possible. Create a new ID.
How do I remove it?
Uninstall it from Windows' list of programs. To delete your account too, sign in here and open Account.
